The actors at General Hospital are back at the studio taping scenes that will begin airing next week. Kirsten Storms says that returning to work has been an emotional experience.
Kirsten Storms: Thrilled To Be Back
“Rocking that #GH hair and makeup like whaaaat?!” Storms, who plays Maxie Jones, posted on Instagram. “Couldn’t have been more thrilled to return to work yesterday. Did I cry as I walked down the hallway of the @generalhospitalabc dressing room area? Yes👏🏻I👏🏻did👏🏻. No shame.
“Really missed my work family these last few months and I feel truly thankful to be back at it with them (in an extremely safe environment. Shout out to @abcnetwork for taking care of us so thoroughly ),” Storms added. “Side note: Can we talk about how much I’m in love with my side WIP [Work in Progress] that I have draped over my shoulders?? Sweater pattern by @mariecastrodiy and it’s almost done 🙌🏼.”
Fans are happy to see the actors working again and are glad to know that new shows will be coming. “So excited,” posted @amystar48, “my daughters and I to have our favorite soap back on!!💞 missed you all so very much!! Stay safe & healthy girly!!😊.”

Storms is celebrating her 15th anniversary with General Hospital this year, having joined the show in 2005. The character is central to one of GH’s most memorable storylines in which a young Maxie, who was dying from heart failure, received the heart of her cousin B.J. (Brighton Hertford), who was declared brain dead after being in a school bus accident.
Years later, Maxie lost her sister Georgie (Lindze Letherman) to the Text Message Killer, aka Diego Alcazar. In the process of eulogizing her sister, Maxie executed a blistering takedown of her and Georgie’s mother Felicia (Kristina Wagner) for being an absent parent for much of their life.
Storms infuses Maxie with both pathos and humor. She’s enjoyed popular pairings with Bradford Anderson’s Spinelli, Ryan Paevey’s Nathan (RIP), and, currently, Wes Ramsey’s Peter.
