The General Hospital recap for Thursday, August 19, 2021, features Britt Westbourne extending an olive branch to her foes, Trina Robinson meeting Spencer Cassadine’s supposed girlfriend, and Carly Corinthos and Jason Morgan deciding their foreseeable future.
Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) has a whole sorry life to mourn, so she very much did not appreciate being interrupted by a gaggle of subordinates from the hospital. Against her better judgment, Britt attempted to play nice, only to be verbally smacked down.
Terry Randolph cautioned her co-Chief of Staff that acceptance would come, but only after she made penance for the myriad of wrongdoings she’s accumulated. The free round of drinks and a heart-to-heart with Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) was a good start, but Britt’s still got a ways to go before any at GH will put their trust into her.
Color Trina (Sydney Mikayla) shocked – Spencer’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) got a girlfriend; her name is Esme Price (Avery Kristen Pohl), and she’s just as nutty as Spencer. Don’t believe us?
Consider the car that Esme torched in order to help clear Spencer of suspicion of being Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) stalker…and we shudder to think how she got her hands on Kiki Jerome’s hospital badge, considering that was supposed to have been buried with her!
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) had it out with Spencer’s father, chastising him for becoming a true Cassadine as he terrorized his son for no reason (well, um, not really Laura, but sure). When Spencer returned, Nik tried to make good but his son made it clear he wanted nothing to do with him and wished he’d never returned. Ouch!
At the hospital, a dejected Trina ran to Ava’s side to make sure her friend was okay. Ava later told Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) that there’s nowhere she’s safe so she’s made a decision — she plans to leave town.
Jason (Steve Burton) had disturbing news for Carly (Laura Wright): she’s a marked woman…and he’s not exactly sure that their wedding is going to help matters. But marry they must – and then it’s time to go to war with the remaining families. Violent, bloody, casualty-laden war!
