The General Hospital recap for Friday, May 28, 2020, features a return trip to spring 2015 and the start of yet another drama-filled Nurses Ball.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
During the 2014 Nurses Ball, and the red-carpet show that proceeded it, there were strange couplings, tumbles, pleas for forgiveness, a mini-triangle being formed, and a whole lot of one-upmanship. And the 2015 offering was merely more of the same.
Context Is Key
Thanks to a carelessly-treated candle, poor Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) has been horribly “disfigured” – his word, not ours – hence the Phantom of the Opera style mask. And to compound his trouble, his beloved Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) is still being pursued by that “two-bit townie” Cameron (Michael Leone).
Duke (Ian Buchanan) is still around but he and Anna (Finola Hughes) have called it quits. And she’s not too happy that Sonny (Maurice Benard) put Duke in charge of the Corinthos empire.
Lucas (Ryan Carnes) forgave Brad (Parry Shen) his myriad of trespasses, but Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) couldn’t do the same for Sonny. Now she’s pregnant with Julian’s (William deVry) baby – hi there Leo! – and getting awfully chummy with her future husband Ned (Wally Kurth).
Speaking of forgiveness, Ric’s (Rick Hearst) gonna need some. He’s been working with Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) to make everybody believe that Jake Doe is really her husband. But that’s a lie. And Carly’s (Laura Wright) got the proof.
Oh, and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) has continued to do bad, bad things. In fact, she’s been in hiding alongside her biological pops, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). But she’s not going to let a little thing like that keep her from watching the red carpet and sharing a gallon of ice cream with Brad.
Never A Dull Moment
Brad and Britt were gung ho for some red carpet shenanigans but the procession went off without a hitch…until Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) accidentally sent Maxie (Kirsten Storms) crashing to the floor.
When the scheme team stopped giggling, they said there goodbyes. Brad was needed in the audience to support Lucas who took to the stage with his fellow nurses for the opening number. At the song’s conclusion, Liesl appeared and performed 99 Red Balloons. This time, she actually got some applause.
Ric’s rendition of Marry Me was interrupted by Carly, who exposed his scheme. Brad took his place and wound up proposing to Lucas! Meanwhile, Britt encouraged Spencer to attend the ball and Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) confessed to Elizabeth that Jake was really Jason…though he actually wasn’y.
