The General Hospital recap for March 23-27, 2020, features a whole lot change…but, also, the same amount of “sameness.”
To quote Britt Westbourne, “the more things change the more they stay the same.” Take the amateur philosopher herself. She was back on staff at General Hospital – as a temporary replacement for Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) – her fellow co-workers have resurrected her nickname – Dr. Britch – and she already caused a disturbance by smacking former lover Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) across the face. (Boy, does that guy have a real smackable face or what?)
Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) were back to being the most law-abiding citizens – even as they plotted a murder – owning to top cop Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) confessing her role in framing Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Nelle (Chloe Lanier) was still being a royal pain, Carly (Laura Wright) responded with threats and intimidation, Sam (Kelly Monaco) thought of nothing else but her own selfish needs and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was self-sabotaging.
And speaking of self-sabotage…not only did Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) cost ELQ millions in revenue but she then sold her shares in the company when called out and punished for her wrongdoing. At least her maturity level hasn’t wavered.
Michael: “Why are you getting so defensive?” Ned: “Why are you getting so self-righteous?” Um…have you met his mother and adoptive father?
Nina: “I wish Maxie nothing but the best in her new role at Deception.” If that were true, you wouldn’t have selfishly severed your deal with a company and jeopardized her future endeavors.
Neil: “You know, as well as I thought I knew you, I never pegged you for an opera lover.” Really? All that time in therapy and Alexis never once mentioned that her mother was Kristin Bergman, a famous Swedish opera singer?
Kevin: “A couple of months ago you told me that you were having conflicting feelings for a patient.” Neil: “You very firmly told me not to cross that line, and I didn’t.” Please tell us that it wasn’t Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) who reported Neil (Joe Flanigan) and Alexis to the board.
Elizabeth to Nikolas: “You were there. You saw what happened to me after I was raped. And I’m not saying it’s the same thing but Cameron is close to the same age that I was…and I just hate the idea that my kid’s gonna go through anything like I did.”
If he does indeed follow Liz’s path, he’ll start carrying around a sharp knife, target his abuser but then accidentally stab a loved one whose trying to help them – poor Lucky! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
