The General Hospital recap for Thursday, August 20, 2020 features emotion-evoking performances, an endowment of epic proportions, and a kidnapping scheme going off the tracks.
The 2020 Nurses Ball (Telethon) continued full steam ahead with emotional performances from Ned (Wally Kurth), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart).
The latter’s set tugged at Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) heartstrings, leaving her in desperate need of a friend. Cue Ava (Maura West), who had just been blindsided by her husband’s overly generous donation and his promise to endow a nursing scholarship in Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) name.
The duo headed for the powder room to discuss their frustrations, and Ava let it slip that if Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) were to sleep with Elizabeth, Ava would inherit 90% of the Cassadine fortune… and all the while, Nurse Webber Baldwin was standing inside a stall, soaking up all of the spilled tea!
Nelle (Chloe Lanier) summoned Julian (William deVry) to her side, informing him that tonight was the night that she would be absconding with Wiley… but that she was going to need his help.
At first, Julian refused. Then he acquiesced to his wife’s blackmail. In keeping with her plan, he donned his blackest clothes, slipped on his best ski mask, and lay in wait for the perfect opportunity to break into Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) house and render her unconscious.
Back at the Metro Court, Brook Lynn (Briana Lane) confronted her devious would-be cousin-in-law, revealing that she had overheard Nelle conferring with her partner in crime.
Nelle attempted to explain away the conversation.: She’d only been rehearsing the lyrics to a number from Chicago. Unfortunately, you can’t kid a kidder. Brook Lynn insisted that she was going to send out a warning to both Michael (Chad Duell) and Monica… but Nelle had other plans.
Grabbing a pair of shears from a nearby table, Nelle conned Brook Lynn into inching closer… then lunged forward with her weapon drawn! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
