The last week has been one where Americans have seen young people of all backgrounds fill our streets with their hope for change and General Hospital star Eden McCoy is no exception.
In fact, she joined a peaceful protest on Wednesday that gave her hope she says she saw for herself.
“I went to the hall of justice downtown LA for a beautiful, peaceful & organized protest. I LISTENED to powerful, sad, but determined voices. It was inspiring & unifying. There is hope here. I saw it for myself,” she tweeted along with a video of the event.
McCoy has spent the last week trying to understand all that’s been going on in our country and tweeted her conclusion several days ago. “I avoid political posting bc I worry about offending when it isn’t my intent. But my heart is broken. White privilege doesn’t mean my life can’t be hard, it means my skin tone isn’t one of the things making it harder. I stand 100% with ALL who are filled with rage and sorrow.”
Eden McCoy turns 17 years old next week and seems wise beyond her years with her words. The teen, who is also a champion volleyball player, began bringing Josslyn to life five years ago and in two weeks we even get to see her very first episode when she returned from Australia where she was visiting her dad, Jax, so she could attend Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) hospital chapel wedding.
Since then we have watched this talented young woman grow before our eyes, becoming an integral part of the Port Charles teen scene. On Wednesday’s classic episode, we even got to see her make her singing debut when Joss performed at The Nurses Ball. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
