It’s been over two months since General Hospital aired an original episode, a result of the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the soap to stop production. But filming resumed in July, and the show is set to begin broadcasting new episodes on August 3, 2020.
General Hospital Catch Up
Need a refresher course on where things stand with the Corinthos clan, Jason and Sam, the Quartermaines, and Port Charles citizens? Here’s where key stories left off.
Wiley’s Fate
Wiley’s custody hearing was underway. His dad, Michael, (Chad Duell) married Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) to help his cause, while his mom, Nelle, (Chloe Lanier) countered by tying the knot with Julian (William deVry), who she blackmailed into marriage by threatening to reveal he caused Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad’s (Parry Shen) car crash.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) contemplated testifying on Nelle’s behalf, while Jax (Ingo Rademacher) questioned the move. Meanwhile, viewers saw Nelle had the other half of Nina’s heart necklace, which means she might be her daughter.
Speaking of hearts, Chase (Josh Swickard) and Sasha’s (Sofia Matson) were broken when Michael and Willow’s marriage was, even though they pushed them into it by pretending they were having an affair. Sasha used cocaine for the first time at her photoshoot for Deception.
Dante Chatter
There was lots of talk about Sonny and Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) missing son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which in soapland means a character is heading back to the canvas. Plus, Zamprogna announced he’s ready to return to the soap. It sets up the potential for a front-burner storyline with Lulu (Emme Rylan), Dante’s ex-wife, who has moved on with Dustin (Mark Lawson).
Separate Lives
Although madly in love, Jason and Sam (Kelly Monaco) weren’t allowed to be anywhere near each other. It’s a parole stipulation for Sam, who was convicted of killing Shiloh, all thanks to shady Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) manipulations. Jason, who knows Peter is a duplicitous crook, is determined to bring him down.
Mike’s Last Days
Mike’s (Max Gail) battle with Alzheimer’s entered its final stages as he became unresponsive and stopped eating. Sonny (Maurice Benard) agonized over how to handle the situation and discussed things with Michael and Jason (Steve Burton), who got some insight about the reality of Mike’s condition from Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst).
Pillow Talk
Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who just left Crimson to work at Deception, discovered she might be pregnant with Peter’s (Wes Ramsey) baby. Meanwhile, Molly (Haley Pullos) is keeping a huge secret from her longtime beau, TJ (Tajh Bellow) – the fact that she had a one-night stand with Brando (Johnny Wactor) when TJ mysteriously disappeared and she thought he dumped her.
Criminal Activity
Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis (Donnell Turner), as well as Sonny and Jason, are dealing with crime lord Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) release from prison after he blackmailed Jordan into setting him free. Taggert’s (Real Andrews) death was a casualty of Cyrus’ revenge plot, leaving his daughter Trina (Sydney Mikayla) devastated and angry at Curtis, who she blames for her father’s demise. She told off both Curtis and Cyrus in the middle of General Hospital.
Couples’ Corner
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton) set a wedding date, despite having conflicting opinions about Anna’s “son” Peter, and Robert asking Finn to keep an eye on the scoundrel. Spencer agreed to make peace with Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) if he divorced Ava. Scott warned Franco that Nikolas could be a threat to his marriage to his Elizabeth, once he ends things with Ava. Neil lost his medical license and Alexis was disbarred, when it was revealed that they had a relationship while they were doctor/patient.
Where’s Holly?
Robert (Tristan Rogers) was crushed to learn Holly (Emma Samms), who was doing contract work for the WSB, died while on a ship that went down in a storm. But soon he began doubting the validity of the news and sought out Luke (Anthony Geary) to help search for her.
Shares and Shares Alike
Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) plot to take control of ELQ intensified, as Martin (Michael E. Knight) informed him he’s getting close to obtaining a controlling share of the Quartermaine business. Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) regretted selling her shares and began looking into who really bought them. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
