James Patrick Stuart joined General Hospital back in 2016 and was billed as the evilest Cassadine of them all. And while Valentin has had his heart ripped out on the show, the actor’s heart is full off-screen, thanks to a gesture from the show itself.
The show shared tweeted a hilarious video that shows the handsome actor who plays Valentin looking longingly at all of the framed portraits of the GH cast that line the walls in the dressing room hallways, as well as the fifth-floor production offices at the studio in Hollywood where the show is shot. They captioned it saying, “Contrary to Valentin’s opinion…@japastu is having the best week ever. #GH”
A “Beautiful” Gift
That’s because the video “flashes forward” three years to the present day, where there is a photo covered with a note that says, “For James pull” — catching the actor’s eye. Of course, he hams it up as he removes the covering to reveal his handsome portrait, crying about how beautiful it is and how his hair looks great.
Not only that, he’s thrilled at the placement because of his portrait’s proximity (it’s right next to) to a particular General Hospital legend. “You put me next to Maurice [Benard, Sonny]!” he cried. He then invoked a very famous line from an Oscar winner — but you’ll have to watch the video below to see the fun moment.
While watching, you may notice that the supposed footage of Stuart walking the halls from three years ago has a bit of a blooper in it. The pictures on the wall are of actors who weren’t all on the show three years ago.
But it’s still pretty hilarious and Soap Hub is happy for the actor that he finally has his portrait on the wall. But we can’t help but wonder — does this mean he’s finally committed to being on contract? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
