General Hospital C&G News

Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH) for the week of October 14-18, 2019? Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of October 14, 2019
Brad Maule, who played Dr. Tony Jones from 1984 until his character was killed off the soap in 2006, was reportedly back on the GH set. Leslie Charleson (Monica) shared the news on social media, along with a pair of photos, and the caption, “Look who was on the show today!”

The post and pictures have since been removed. Meanwhile, there’s no official word as to Maule’s status with the soap moving forward.

Nawal Bengholam is portraying Roz. The mysterious character is connected to Wes Ramsey’s Peter and will be carrying out a mission for him. Bengholam has previously had day roles on The Young and The Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Finally,  James MacDonald is playing Edward Caldwell, the federal agent investigating Shiloh’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) death.

More About General Hospital

GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) gripping romance and wedding, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH knows how to please their viewers.

Hooked On Port Charles

More than five decades of gripping drama has kept the daytime sudser on the air as other soap operas were axed. It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB).
