General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of September 7, 2020

A fan favorite is returning, seemingly for the mystery surrounding Holly’s (Emma Samms) “death.” Nathan Parsons is set to resurface as Holly and Luke’s (Anthony Geary) son, Ethan Lovett. The actor, who was originally cast in the role in 2009, appeared on the soap on and off until 2015. He was last seen after Luke, Laura, and Holly were searching for their sons. It turned out both Ethan and Lucky had been kidnapped.

Vernee Watson is also scheduled for another visit as Stella Henry, Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) uncle. The character, who has been off visiting a newly found relative in Europe, was last on-screen in March. Will she have anything to do with Mike’s story?

In other casting news, Paulina Lule has been logging in time as Valerie Spencer. The cop has been investigating Nelle’s disappearance and Neil’s death. Plus, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith, last seen in 2019, popped back in as Brick, Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) security expert. We expect to see him again this week as he flirts with Carly (Laura Wright.)

On the exit front, Chloe Lanier wrapped up her run as Nelle Benson, when the character presumably died after falling off a cliff. And, in a surprise move, Joe Flanigan was killed off as Neil Byrne. He began playing Alexis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) therapist in February of 2019.
