General Hospital C&G News
Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of April 19, 2021
There will be a special new cast member in attendance during General Hospital’s tribute to the late John Reilly (ex-Sean Donely): the actor’s real-life daughter Caitlin Reilly. The actress, writer, and social media star will appear in the upcoming episode honoring her father, portraying Sean and Tiffany’s (Sharon Wyatt) daughter Anna Donely. Albeit the character is now going by the name Annie.
Reilly’s credits include a number of short films, as well as the digital series Meredith and Laurie Have a Web Series. Yet, she is best known for her TikTok presence, where she has amassed two million followers. Annie was last on the scene in August of 2013. At that point, she was portrayed by Courtney Halverson
Dan White is back as the shady Elijah Crowe on Tuesday, April 20. He’ll share more tension-filled scenes with Maurice Benard’s Sonny/”Mike.”
Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
Bringing the Drama
More than five decades of gripping drama as well as love in the afternoon have kept this ABC daytime soap on the air and winning Daytime Emmys. It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
