Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH) this week or in the not-too-distant future?
General Hospital C&G News
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of January 23, 2023
A Quartermaine favorite and powerhouse actress is returning to the soap. Jane Elliot is coming home as Tracy, this spring. The character is set to surface in April.
Elliot debuted as Tracy Quartermaine in 1978. She retired in 2017, however, she popped in to visit her Port Charles family on occasion. Word is she’ll be back long-term this time around.
Denise Crosby pops in as Carolyn Webber, this week. Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) mother is set to pay a visit to Port Charles in hopes of making amends with her estranged daughter.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
