Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)?
General Hospital C&G News
Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles?
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of June 7, 2021
After a long absence, Vernee Watson is finally back as Stella Henry, Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) feisty aunt. She appears in scenes with Brook Kerr’s Portia on Tuesday, June 8. Watson, who’s won two Daytime Emmy awards since debuting on GH in 2017, was last seen on the soap in October of 2020. The character has been off visiting a newly discovered relative in Europe.
Kimberly J. Brown appears to have wrapped up her short-term run as Chloe, the duplicitous nurse, who Peter (Wes Ramsey) hired to watch Maxie (Kirsten Storms). The character fell down a boarded-up shaft in the woods, last week.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
Please note that air dates may be subject to change.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
