A pair of fan favorites – one beloved and one loathed – are back on set taping. Lexi Ainsworth, who plays Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) daughter, Kristina Davis, shared an Instagram photo from her GH dressing room along with the message, “She’s back,” Ainsworth made her last appearance in September when Sonny returned from the “dead.”
Meanwhile, Constance Towers is also back at the show’s studio taping an episode as the late Helena Cassadine, according to a Facebook page for the actress. It’s likely some flashback scenes. The character last aired in February 2020 as a vision to Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Zakary Risinger has taken over the role of Danny Morgan. He replaced Porter Fasullo, who had portrayed Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), and Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) son since 2019.
Joe Nieves is playing Silva, the guard at Laura Spencer Collins (Genie Francis) and Martin Grey’s (Michael Knight) safe house. Meanwhile, Lisa Catar is portraying the fake maid, who tried to kill Martin.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please its viewers.
It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
