This week has brought triumph and tears to some of your favorite celebrities. We’ve gathered some of the top entertainment news stories from December 5 – 11, 2021, to keep you updated on all the celebrity happenings.

Entertainment News: Love and Family

Tristan Thompson is slated to be a dad of three! The NBA star is expecting a baby with Maralee Nichols – a Texas-based personal trainer. Nichols is currently suing for child support and pregnancy-related funds. This little boy will join his three-year-old sister, True, and four-year-old son, Prince.

Morgan and Bode Miller became parents of five this week. The couple welcomed the daughter into the family. The little one took her place alongside siblings Nash, Easton, Asher, and Askel.

HGTV star Steve Ford is off the market. The Restored star took his vows with Andrea Cargill whom he calls the love of his life. The ceremony took place at a resort outside of Pittsburg. Check out the couple’s first wedding picture here.

Christina Ricci is a mother of two! The star and her husband, Mark Hampton, welcomed their first child together, a little girl they named Cleopatra. The baby girl joins big brother, Freddie, from Ricci’s relationship with James Heerdegen.

Singer Marques Houston and his wife, Miya, welcomed their first child this week. The couple was overjoyed to meet their daughter, Zara, after keeping the entire pregnancy a secret. Zara was born on December 2nd.

Crime and Punishment

Former TLC star Josh Duggar was found guilty on Thursday after a week-long trial for his role in receiving and possessing child pornography. According to People Magazine, he could now face up to 20 years behind bars. Sentencing has not been scheduled but is anticipated to take place in about four months.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial for sex trafficking is also underway. The case came to a halt on December 9th when one of the attorneys became ill and needed medical care. The trial is expected to take up to six weeks with several victims and witnesses to take the stand.

A jury declared former ‘Empire’ star Jussie Smollett guilty of five felony disorderly conduct charges. This stems from an incident three years ago where Smollett allegedly faked being a victim of a hate crime. As it turns out, it was a failed attention-grabbing stunt and now he’ll pay the price. According to the Guardian, sentencing will take place at a later date.

Convicted murderer Scott Peterson was resentenced this week. His death penalty conviction was swapped out for life in prison. Scott was found guilty in 2002 of murdering his wife and unborn son, Conner. People Magazine has all the details.

Entertainment News: Illness and Injury

The world of comics was left shaken this week when legendary artist, George Perez, announced he has cancer. Perez shared his pancreatic cancer diagnosis with fans. It’s fatal, inoperable, and he has six months to a year to live. He has decided to decline treatment. Hollywood Reporter has the full story.

Celebrity Scandals

Former CNN correspondent Chris Cuomo has spent a good deal of time in the spotlight recently. He was let go from his show last week. This week, shocking allegations of sexual misconduct became public.

RHOBH husband, PK Kemsley was arrested this week. The reality show star was allegedly drunk behind the wheel and charged with a DUI. This all went down in the early hours of November 23rd. TMZ has the story.

Child Protective Services paid Aaron Carter a visit this week after calls from his fans. Aaron claims a CPS worker found his home in good order and left without incident. The situation seems to have him taking stock of things and he reconciled with fiancé Melanie Martin.

Iconic Grand Ole Opry singer Stonewall Jackson passed away. The musician succumbed to his battle with vascular dementia on December 5th. He was 89 years old. People Magazine has his obituary.

Nick Cannon and his family are in mourning this week. The singer’s youngest son, Zen Scott Cannon, has passed away due to a terminal brain tumor. The baby was 5 months old.

America’s Got Talent contestant Skilyr Hicks has passed away. The songstress was found lifeless in a friend’s home on December 8. While there is no official cause of death, according to TMZ, police suspect an overdose. Hicks was 23 years old.

Fans of popular rapper Slim 400 are in shock this week. He was gunned down in L.A. on December 8th. According to TMZ, police believe the singer was tragically in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was 33 years old.

Acclaimed director Lina Wertmüller died on December 9 at 93 years of age. She made quite a name for herself in the 60s and 70s and was the first woman to ever receive an Oscar nomination as a film director.

The Monkees lost one of their own on December 10th. The band’s singer and guitarist, Michael Nesmith passed at 78 years old of natural causes. The Grammy-winning artist will be missed by his friends, family, and bandmate.

‘Ruthless’ actress Rhonda Stubbins White passed away on December 9th. She was well known as Agnes in the Tyler Perry BET show. Her other credits include Days of our Lives, Shameless, and her upcoming drama, I Heard Sarah.

Beloved Telenovela star, Carmen Salinas, died this week. The actress, best known to American viewers for her role in ‘Man on Fire’, rose to fame in the world of soaps taking on roles in numerous shows. She was 82 years old.
