The week of September 6, 2021
GH revealed Charles Shaughnessy’s new role with the soap. He’s portraying the very much alive Victor Cassadine. Thaao Penghlis (Tony, Days of our Lives) last played the role in 2014 when the character “died.”
After a short absence, Jeff Kober is back on the scene as Cyrus Renault. Once again, the drug lord is wreaking havoc from behind his prison walls. There’s no word as to the duration of his stint with the soap.
Meanwhile, on the five families front, Bart Tangredi has been portraying the duplicitous Mr. Buscema. And Glenn Taranto is playing Victor Novak.

Patrick Gibbons Jr. made a few quick appearances as Wyatt Hoover. The Raging Raccoon scout made his last appearance in 2019.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
