Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem is pulling out all the stops for the streaming digital series. In addition to previously announced favorites who are returning for the Peacock series, now comes word that Charles Shaughnessy is reprising his role of ISA agent Shane Donovan on DAYS: Beyond Salem.
Charles Shaughnessy Returns
The Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, is announcing that Shaughnessy is back as Shane and in other casting news, Canadian drag queen Jackie Cox (RuPaul’s Drag Race) will also appear in the limited series in a guest-starring role that will tap into her particular talents.
As you can see in the trailer here, Shane plays a key role in DAYS: Beyond Salem as he shares information about the “Alamanian Peacock,” which was stolen in 1991. Veteran DAYS fans recall that villain Lawrence Alamain (Michael Sabatino) was on the scene at this time. Later, he was joined by his nefarious aunt Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel).
Shane Donovan Sets Up The Drama
“The gems have fallen into the wrong hands,” Shane explains to John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall). “So, why do I have a feeling there’s more to this story than you’re telling?” John asks his longtime pal.
Along with seeing Shaughnessy back as Shane, the jam-packed promo also reveals Eileen Davidson as (apparently) both Kristen and one of her other multiple roles, Sister Mary Moira. Other characters in the promo include Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley), Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers), Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Eli Grant (Lamon Archey), and many others!
Cox, who is known for her impersonation of Lisa Rinna (Billie), will appear in the series and as you can see in the promo’s tag, there’s a bit of synergy that will be happening! Watch for John and Marlena to travel to Zurich, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) will have a romantic getaway in New Orleans, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) visits old pals in Phoenix, and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli vacation in Miami.
