Why Willow And Ava Need To Be Friends On General Hospital

General Hospital and Willow Tait took fans by surprise recently when Willow finally allowed herself to cry and feel amongst all the turmoil in her life she has been keeping to herself. And, she did it with a perplexed but sympathetic Ava Jerome Cassadine.

General Hospital: Ava Is The Right Person For Willow

While one might question if Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Ava (Maura West) had ever even had a long conversation before this week, seeing them together and talking made us realize just how much they have in common.

First, Ava was the mother of the late sister Willow and Ava do not even know she had. Since Willow is Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) other daughter, that means she was also Silas Clay’s (Michael Easton) daughter, making Kiki Jerome her half-sister.

When Willow eventually does get the devastating news that she is suffering from cancer, knowing from that one moment she broke down in her arms that Ava is a good listener, Willow might decide to confide in her. Remember that Ava had cancer too long ago on General Hospital, and it was infant Avery’s bone marrow that saved her. At the time, Ava wanted to protect her baby from any harm, but Silas, Willow’s dad, saved her anyway.

Willow also wants to do anything to protect her child from harm due to her cancer, and like Ava, she knows the pain of losing a child. The things these two very different women have in common are staggering, and they could be good for one another as they suffer different trials and tribulations.

Let’s also not forget that Ava is best friends with Willow’s mother. Willow might not know Nina is her mother yet, but she is going to need all the support she can find away from the Corinthos clan — especially Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) when she finally learns the truth.
