Why Charlotte Cassadine Isn’t Done With Anna Devane on GH

Once upon a time on General Hospital, Charlotte didn’t really mind her dad dating Anna. Then Grandpa Victor messed with Charlotte’s head, and she now hated Anna. Charlotte went so far as to stalk her and paint “murderer” on her door. Valentin found out his precious darling was a budding psycho, but kept the information to himself. Which indirectly led to Anna accidentally shooting Charlotte. Now “Vanna” is old news. So will Charlotte drop her vendetta?

Charlotte Cassadine: Long-Term Plans

Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) may be smugly satisfied now that Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) are no longer romantically involved (refresh your memory on their breakup here). But she has also lived in Port Charles long enough to know that “done” doesn’t mean “done for good.”

How many of Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) weddings has she been to? Charlotte will remain forever on guard against Daddy Dearest hooking up with that evil witch again. And, when it inevitably happens, Charlotte will be ready to return to her old ways…and sing a rousing Taylor Swift chorus of “Look What You Made Me Do” her way.

Never Surrender

But Anna dating Valentin is just an excuse for Charlotte to wreak more havoc. Her real reason for being a bad girl is twofold. First, it’s in her genes. She’s not just Valentin’s daughter, she’s Helena’s (Constance Towers) granddaughter. And Victor’s (Charles Shaughnessey).

And you might as well throw in Luke (Anthony Geary) for good measure. Even Laura (Genie Francis) was quite the hellion when she was Charlotte’s age. (She’d already killed two people by then! Charlotte is actually behind.) The poor kid never had a chance, biologically speaking.

Nurture Shock

Then there’s the brainwashing. And the being spoiled rotten. Between it and her naturally awful personality, Charlotte was born to be bad. And she will never stop tormenting Anna. No matter who she happens to be dating.
