On General Hospital, Esme Prince has made it look like Trina Robinson was the one who shot the video of Josslyn Jacks and Cameron Webber having sex, then leaked it onto the Internet.
General Hospital: Remember When?
Revenge porn is definitely a crime, and we neither blame the Port Charles Police Department for bringing Trina in for questioning nor suggesting that such offenses shouldn’t be punished or treated as merely a case of mischief. But…we do have questions about the details of Trina’s incarceration.
Was it only a few months ago that Cam (William Lipton), heartbroken over the murder of his stepfather, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), was believed to have shot mobster Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) in revenge?
Early Release
Even though he was eventually cleared of the charges, Cam was arrested and brought down to the precinct for questioning. Where he was let out by evening into his mother, Elizabeth Webber Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst), custody.
For attempted murder. Most people would agree — even in General Hospital’s Port Charles setting — that attempted murder is a wee bit higher on the criminal scale than revenge porn. And yet…here we are.
General Hospital: A Double Standard
And yet, Trina has not been let out into her mother, Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr), custody. Trina is still in jail. Most people would agree that an attempted murderer is a larger threat to the community than someone who shot and posted a video of two boring teens having boring sex.
Fans — and Trina — are upset that Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) doesn’t believe her pleas of innocence.
Fans — and Trina — are upset that Esme (Avery Kristine Pohl) looks like she’s going to get away with it, even though her cloning Trina’s phone seems pretty easy to expose — especially when one has a Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) at one’s disposal.
And, so far, fans — and Trina — aren’t asking why she is being treated so much more harshly than Cameron, another teen with presumably no priors (though Cameron actually had one from the earlier drug bust). Is it because the answer is as obvious as the color of their faces?
