When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
General Hospital’s final offering of the week — which was supposed to have been aired on a Thursday, and which consisted mostly of the “B Team” and their C and D stories — is a prime example of why you should write every episode like it’s a Friday. To say that I was bored out of my mind would be an understatement.
Truth be told, I had all but forgotten about Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), his on-again/off-again flirtationship with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), his interest in her relation to Faison, and his blackmailing of Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). By the by, can you tell that the installment was very Cody-heavy? And I didn’t even mention the whole, he could be Mac Scorpio’s (John J. York) son thing. That I REALLY try to forget.
And thank the universe that we seem close to wrapping that nothing story that was Carly No Last Name (Laura Wright) fighting the law, or, in her case, The Jacksonville Beautification Guild and losing.
Boo-hoo, the committee didn’t see fit to halt the final stage of that graveyard’s decommissioning just to appease a woman who hadn’t visited her adoptive mother’s resting place in over 20 years.
I’d like to say it boggles my mind that Carly would even think she could persuade the committee to halt the final stage of that graveyard’s decommissioning just to appease her — and I guess just screw you to the families who’ve already been forced to relocate their loved ones — but it doesn’t. That was just par for the course for Carly.
The saving grace was Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) being Lucy Coe, which means she was getting herself into a buttload of trouble because…she’s Lucy Coe.
* Esme’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) back…and pregnant…yay?
* I know, I know, budgets, episode guarantees, blah, blah, blah — Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Kristina Corinthos (Lexi Ainsworth) should have been at Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) memorial service. Hell, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) should have been there as well, if for no other reason, than to be by TJ Ashford’s (Tajh Bellow) side. Is she ever on hand to support her domestic partner?
And what was with Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) being the one to lead Gladys Corbin into the venue? Have those two ever shared a scene together?
* So, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and not Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), a doctor and not the freakin’ Chief of Police was the one to deduce The Mad Hooker of Port Charles’ actual agenda? Not a good look…not a good look.
