When Cody Bell first popped up on General Hospital, viewers suspected he had more on his mind than just making Britt Westbourne cringe. When the truth was revealed, we all went, “Wait…what?” Cody is the son of Scott Baldwin’s late wife. And he hates Scott because Scott never went looking for the child Dominique never told him about?

About Time
Mac has played fill-in father for Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough), Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), and Georgie Jones, when their deadbeat dads had better things to do. But he’s never had a biological child of his own. And 58% of you think that’s just plain old unfair. If Cody is the best Mac can do, well, then you’ll take it. It’s better than nothing.

A smaller 37% of the audience is open to the idea…if Cody straightens up and flies right. Sure, Mac came on as Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) ne’er-do-well brother, but he eventually became a good enough guy to be named police commissioner. He went from blowing things up to failing to arrest people who blow things up. Which is a step up, right? Let Cody follow in his pop’s footsteps.
Time Gone By
Only 5% don’t want it to happen because, in that case, Mac would have missed watching his son grow up. He wouldn’t have had the chance to mold and guide him. He wouldn’t have managed to stop him from becoming the entitled, whiny con man we’ve all been saddled with. If we find him painful, we don’t want to inflict that pain on Mac.
