Some General Hospital fans still contend that Brenda is the true love of Sonny’s life and not Carly.
With Sonny and Carly (Laura Wright) on the outs as they deal with the death of their son–allegedly and accidentally at Sonny’s hands–who better to comfort him than Brenda, his first true love in Port Charles?
After all, they were married and Brenda is still out there traveling the world. On top of that, actors Vanessa Marcil and Maurice Benard clearly still adore each other, as evidenced on Twitter this past weekend.
Marcil celebrated her birthday on Saturday, and Benard offered her a belated wish on Sunday, for which the actress expressed her gratitude.

She also answered a fan who wants her back on the show, as the fan claimed not to believe budget cuts are the reason she’s not there. Marcil firmly believes that’s the reason and is understanding of all soaps’ current plight.

The actress also had to admit she no longer watches the show, but she had no doubt Benard’s performance last week was absolutely perfect. We at Soap Hub tend to agree and look forward to more.
