Just when Port Charles and General Hospital have gotten used to having Aunt Stella around, actress Vernee Watson has landed a new job on a new network.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Watson will star in the new CBS primetime series Bob Loves Abishola, set to air this coming fall.
The series is a comedy described as “a love story about a middle-aged compression sock businessman from Detroit who unexpectedly falls for his cardiac nurse, a Nigerian immigrant while recovering from a heart attack and sets his sights on winning her over.”
Watson recently won her second Daytime Emmy for her GH role. In 2018, she took home the gold for Outstanding Guest Performer In A Drama Series. Earlier this month, she won for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series.
What does this mean for Aunt Stella, the core of the Ashford family, as well as a social worker so many in PC have come to rely on? Will Watson be able to juggle both shows or will she need to give up her daytime gig? As Soap Hub knows more about the actress’ soap status, we will keep you informed.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
