This Is Us Star Chrissy Metz Lands Dream-Come-True Record Deal

Kate Pearson-Damon’s love life on This Is Us has seen better days but life is going just terrific for her portrayer, Chrissy Metz. The actress has announced an exciting new project with her fans that’s going to showcase her incredible talents.

The talented actress revealed her news on Instagram, complete with a video that helped her share the good news in an exciting way!

“The cat is out of the bag, y’all!” Metz wrote in the caption that accompanied the post. “Here’s the secret I’ve been keeping and dreaming about since I can remember. I am beyond grateful and excited to work with @umgnashville & @riverhouseartists ! And I am so thrilled for you all to hear what we’ve been working on!”

Within the show, Kate has performed Sinead O’Connor’s hit song “Nothing Compares To You.” However, the character’s musical endeavors haven’t always met with success, but in real-life things are markedly different. The song she performed in the film Breakthrough, “I’m Standing With You,” written by Academy Award nominee Diane Warren, was nominated for an Oscar.

Singing Her Heart Out

Metz debuted as a country singer at the Academy of Country Music Awards in April 2019. “Chrissy Metz is simply tapped into America’s emotional conscience,” said Cindy Mabe, UMG Nashville’s president in a statement. “Music was her first love and no matter if she’s singing, acting, writing or just being, she’s always real, powerful and fully connected with her audience.”
