This Is Us is a show that constantly reminds viewers of the importance of family and of people being there for one another. The cast of the hit series has gotten together to show that they care in real life, as well — especially about our nation’s healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
This Is Us Cast Makes A Difference
“Reuniting with my @NBCThisisUs fam to support @FrontlineFoods & provide meals to our healthcare heroes in Philly & Pittsburgh!” posted Mandy Moore (Rebecca). “A big THANK YOU to all the essential workers out there, who continue to take care & inspire us all.Red heart #InThisTogether #CastItOn.”
Those locations are especially poignant to the cast since their characters grew up in Pittsburg. After growing up and running for city council, the Randall branch of the family moved to Philadelphia. The cast wanted to pay it forward by helping those particular cities, which have been hard hit by the virus. There isn’t a lot we can do (other than stay at home and social distance), but helping to feed the true heroes during this battle is incredible.
“Where would we be without our healthcare heroes?” rhetorically asked Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth). “They are on the front lines fighting for our lives! My fellow Pearsons & I wanted to thank them by sponsoring dinner for some of the hardest hit hospitals in Pittsburgh & Philly. Join us! @FrontlineFoods #InThisTogether #CastItOn.”
“My fellow Pearsons and I have teamed up to support @FrontlineFoods by sponsoring dinner for our healthcare heroes at some of the hardest hit hospitals in Philly & Pittsburgh,” posted Sterling K. Brown (Randall). “Join us? To get involved, visit http://frontlinefoods.org! #InThisTogether.”
Frontline Foods, per its twitter account, “supports healthcare workers with healthy meals from local kitchens. Donations go directly to local restaurants.” If you’re looking for a great way to give back, this would certainly be a great way to do it.
This Is Us is one of the most successful new programs to come along in recent years. The series tells the stories of the Pearson clan, their friends, and extended family members through time jumps, flashbacks, and flash-forwards! Along with Brown, Watson, and Moore, the series stars Justin Hartley (Kevin), Chrissy Metz (Kate), and Milo Ventimiglia (Jack).
In the series fourth season finale, Kevin and Randall had a knockdown argument over how their mother’s care should be handled. And Kevin learned he was going to become a father. Viewers learned in a flash-forward that he not only becomes a dad, but he’s a parent to twins! The show is set to return next fall on NBC.
