Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have been together for over a decade and have cemented themselves as one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples. Not only is the pair so open about the relationship, including their struggles, they have also appeared in movies and TV shows together.
While they both have great careers, they manage to stay connected as a family and be there for their kids. From how the couple met to their sweet Twitter proposal, here are five fast facts about the gorgeous couple.
Bell and Shepard first met back in 2007 at a birthday party for a mutual friend, but they didn’t click right away. In fact, Shepard revealed he was a little freaked out by Bell’s upbeat personality. However, the pair ran into each other two weeks later at a hockey game and started their romance.
So Close and Yet So Far
Though they met in Los Angeles after they both found success in the business, Bell and Shepard actually grew up just miles away from each other in Michigan. Bell grew up in Huntington Woods, a suburb of Detroit, while Shepard grew up in another suburb of Detroit called Highland Township.
Twitter Proposal
Bell and Shepard first got engaged in 2010, but they vowed to not get married until same-sex marriage became legal in the state of California. Once the Defense of Marriage Act was ruled unconstitutional on June 26, 2013, Bell asked Shepard to marry her on Twitter. The couple then tied the knot at the Beverly Hills courthouse on October 17, 2013.
Prior to getting married, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard welcomed their first child, daughter Lincoln, in 2013. They then had their second child, daughter Delta Bell, in 2014.
Work and Play
After meeting in 2007, Bell and Shepard both starred in the movie When In Rome. They have appeared in other’s movies and projects, including Veronica Mars, Hit and Run, and CHiPs. Shepard has also appeared in a few episodes of Bell’s show, The Good Place.
