Eileen Davidson and Jon Lindstrom – right from the start they questioned whether or not their relationship had legs. And even though they chose to enter the race, they didn’t reach the finish line.

How Did Eileen Davidson and Jon Lindstrom Meet?

It was thanks to the machinations of a mutual matchmaking friend that Davison and Lindstrom first met. After the first date, Davidson reportedly told the person, “Yeah, there’s an attraction, but I don’t see a future in this.”

Though the couple did continue to see each other for the next six weeks, the end was nigh. Fast forward four months and they again met – this time at a fundraiser for inner-city youth. The romance was back on, and it was one with intense emotions.

An Angry Proposal and A Wedding

According to Lindstrom, what the pair desperately needed was a serious commitment to one another, something that had not been forthcoming during their courtship. However, that all changed in April of 1996 when a war of words erupted during a ski vacation.

“We were still arguing, and it became: ‘I love you!’ ‘No, I love you, dammit! Let’s get married!’ Looking back, we were mad at being at the midway point between a commitment and not knowing what it was. Once we made the commitment, the walls broke down.”

Subsequently, they pledged their respective troth’s on May 3, 1997, at Davidson’s five-acre property in Cambria, California, in front of 70 guests. Lindstrom joked that 50 of them were from Davidson’s side, something the bride humorously attributed to being Catholic.

Eileen Davidson and Jon Lindstrom Call It Quits

Though the couple’s paradise seemed untroubled, cracks began to form and in November of 2000, Lindstrom filed for divorce and released the following statement, “This is an amicable situation. We remain the best of friends and hope that people will respect our privacy during this time.”

One month later, Davidson boarded a Las Vegas-bound flight with her very married former The Young and the Restless co-star Vincent Van Patten. They vacationed in the Bellagio Hotel and upon their return to California, Van Patten also sought a divorce.

Accusations

Explicit details about the apparent marriage-busting liaison remained uncovered for nearly two decades but were finally brought to the fore courtesy of Davidson’s fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills players Brandi Glanville and Lisa Vanderpump.

In her personal blog, Glanville challenged, “Eileen, you were married. He was married; they had children. You were caught by a photographer. It was in the tabloids. Your husband sued you for divorce. His wife sued him for divorce.”

Later, in response to a number of inquiries from Vanderpump, Davidson acquiesced, “I knew he was married and I was married and I was totally respectful of that … but whatever. So, he and I, we had a friendship for a long time.

We just kind of fell in love. I told my husband at the time, ‘We have a situation here. I am having feelings for somebody’ … No, I separated from my husband. I was like, ‘This isn’t good. We’ve got to separate.’”
