Last week, 9-1-1 kicked off their two-night “Contagion” event, which had fans buzzing. Some are preparing themselves for Bobby Nash’s potential death. Characters have died in the past, but none of the original characters have. Bobby has been a part of the show since the beginning. It would be hard to see it go on without him.

Season 8 Death Theory

This theory first surfaced on Sunday, March 30. One fan took to X to share a photo of the cast filming a funeral. The photo featured a Station 118 firetruck carrying a casket with Bobby’s (Peter Krause) turnout coat. This could suggest that he’s inside the casket.

Meanwhile, a video floated on X, featuring Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) somberly walking behind the firetruck while dressed all in black. This photo was leaked weeks before subsequent spoilers suggested that a character’s death could shake up the show. This could suggest that Bobby could die during the two-night “Contagion” event or during the season finale, which will air in May.

Here’s What Fans Think

Fans spotted another possible clue. Gavin McHugh, who plays Christopher Diaz, shared a throwback photo of himself with Krause on Instagram. On Thursday, April 17, he shared a behind-the-scenes shot of the two posing in front of the firetruck. “One of my favorite filming days with Cap! WHO’S WATCHING TONIGHT?? 🔥🔥🔥 911onABC #christopherdiaz #911 #throwback @911onabc,” McHugh teased in the caption.

Fans were in disbelief over the photo choice. They assumed that Bobby’s character could die in Thursday night’s episode. “GAVIN DID U PURPOSELY DO THIS 😭😭😭,” one fan exclaimed. “Gavin?? Why are you doing this?” another fan asked. Many are concerned about Krause’s future with the series.

There hasn’t been any confirmation that Krause will leave the show. TVLine reported that the second part of the “Contagion” event is called “The Last Alarm.” In law enforcement and firefighting, this term means the end of someone’s career, either through retirement or death. No matter who it is, it’s going to be grim. What are your thoughts on this fan theory? Let us know in the comments section.
