Jane Seymour is best known for her work as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Now, she’s going in a different direction. She will star in a limited series for Hallmark, which will air during the holiday season.

Limited Holiday Series

Fans of the network are getting an update about the 2025 Countdown to Christmas. This year isn’t just about wholesome movies. There’s also a new series in the works. Deadline broke the news that Seymour is joining a television drama that includes Mae Whitman and Mary McDonnell. It also stars Nathaniel Parker, Julian Morris (Pretty Little Liars, The Morning Show), and Toby Sandeman (The Game, Running Point).

The new show is The Twelve Dates of Christmas; however, the title could change. It’s based on the book by the same name, Jenni Bayliss. The series will premiere on Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas and stream the following day on Hallmark+. An official premiere date hasn’t been announced. Filming has already begun.

What To Know

The series is set around Dublin, Ireland. However, it follows a woman named Kate (Whitman), a textile designer who lives in Blexford, England. Her father, Mac (Parker), lives next door to her in the quaint little neighborhood. He divorced her mom, Delilah (McDonnell), who is currently traveling in the United States. Kate has to care for her father after he was injured in a motorbike accident.

Meanwhile, Kate’s best friend Laura (Lucy Eaton) enrolled her in a matchmaking service aptly called “The 12 Dates of Christmas.” She wants Kate to get out of a dating rut. At first, Kate is hesitant about dating again. Then, she meets a mysterious man (Sandeman) who sweeps her off her feet. She finally has a new lease on life. Mac also strikes up a romance with his neighbor Evelyn (Seymour), who encourages him to get outside his comfort zone again.

Delilah returns, shaking up both of their worlds. Kate steps back into dating as she learns new things about herself. Meanwhile, her father finds himself in a love triangle. John Wallace produces the Twelve Dates of Christmas. Executive producers are Carrie Stein, Davah Avena, Dan March, and Erin Rodman for Dynamic Television, along with David McLoughlin for Metropolitan Pictures.
