Will Jennifer Hudson throw another shoe in support of a The Voice contestant again this week? That act is actually, well, up in the air.
The Oscar winner got a little of her own footwear medicine on Saturday when an enthusiastic Boston fan tossed his shoe on stage as she was hitting the high notes of the Dreamgirls hit, I Am Telling You I Am Not Going.
JHud warned her crew that this might happen. She said in an Instagram post, “I got my first shoe thrown at me tonight… I could barely finish my song after this guy got done!… [Too] much! I love it.”
The whole incident caught this arresting artist a bit off guard even though she had predicted this kind of thing might happen.
The weird way of showing approval began when the fresh Voice coach tossed her silver platform pump at a performer who was expertly belting Try A Little Tenderness during the blind auditions last week.
Jennifer told Seth Meyers on Friday night, “If you move me enough that I remove my shoe to throw it at you, you have done something just amazing. It’s equivalent to a standing ovation…it’s a compliment.”
Well, there you have it. May the shoes games continue.
