Manifest Introducing Grace’s Brother: How Will He Impact Season 3?

During its first two seasons, NBC’s hit show Manifest has given viewers plenty of insights into the minds and lives of the Stone family—Ben (Josh Dallas), his sister Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), Ben’s wife Grace (Athena Karkanis), and “twins” Olive (Luna Blaise) and Cal (Jack Messina).

Manifest Adds Grace’s Brother

But in Season 3, viewers will learn more about Grace’s family, including her estranged stepbrother Tarik, who the Stone family turns to for help when they have nowhere else to go.

According to TVLine, Warner Miller, who has appeared on Boardwalk Empire, Luke Cage, and Chicago, P.D., has been cast in the recurring role.

“Let the fireworks begin!” noted the Manifest’s showrunner Jeff Rake during an interview earlier this year discussing the upcoming season, hinting that there’s no love lost between the siblings.

It will be interesting to see how Tarik will play into the family dynamic and his willingness to stay open to what the Flight 828ers have been through. Will Tarik want to be close to so much danger?

Last season it was hinted strongly that Grace and Ben’s new baby inherited some sort of powers and allowed Grace to experience some of the same confusing premonitions and visions that her husband and son were having, despite not being on the mysterious flight. Surely Tarik is going to question whether everything going on is true.

And what’s of this animosity between the step-siblings? Will that come into play and will Tarik just pretend to help the Stones and really be connected to those looking to destroy all things connected to Flight 828?

There’s also the possibility that Tarik can become a love interest to Saanvi (Parveen Kaur), as the show hasn’t established whether the brilliant doctor is a lesbian or bi, and judging by her looks at Ben, the latter is more likely the case.

Manifest has been good at creating layers in its characters early on, so hopefully, Tarik is not just a one-note rotten brother and can add an interesting component to the story going forward. Manifest returns to the NBC schedule in 2021.
