Jennifer Garner Encourages Women To Get Mammograms In Cute Way

Listen up, ladies — Jennifer Garner wants you to put your health first! The actress seems to get quite the kick out of making social media content that entertains people but this latest one is also very important because she’s encouraging women to get a mammogram.

Jennifer Garner’s Important Message

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Garner — and many other women around the world — are getting their annual checkup, despite the fact it can be a little bit scary because early detection is everything.

Garner shared her video, which is a time-lapse of her mammogram visit, to Instagram, saying “Happy October! It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and it’s time for a mammogram,” the 47-year-old says in the clip.

In typical Jennifer Garner fashion, the mother of three plays with latex gloves, draws silly pictures of breasts on her medical handouts, makes silly faces, and essentially makes getting a mammogram look fun.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
“Every October I have a standing date 🙂. For a mammogram 😬. For me, having the appointment on the books makes it routine, like the dentist. I know it’s scary, sisters, but just do it — the next best thing to an all clear is early detection,” she captioned her post.

“To everyone in the thick of the battle — respect and love and strength to you. 💗 #nationalbreastcancerawarenessmonth #octoberisforpink #idonttakemycleartestforgranted #thankyoudrgoldberg.”

A number of Garner’s celebrity friends commented on her post and thanked her for encouraging women to get checked. “You are a g darn treasure,” actress Olivia Wilde shared, while Broadway legend Kristen Chenoweth wrote, “I could NOT LOVE YOU MORE.”

Breast cancer affects hundreds of thousands of women every year, and quite a few famous celebrities have been open about their own struggle with the deadly disease.

Breast Cancer Survivors

In fact, Rita Wilson, Angelina Jolie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Christina Applegate, Wanda Sykes, Melissa Etheridge, Edie Falco, Sheryl Crow, Cynthia Nixon, and so many other women — and men — have suffered from breast cancer over the years. Go get checked, ladies!
