Whoever said night shoots couldn’t be fun — certainly not the cast of Game of Thrones. The actors famously had to endure a whopping 55 nights of shooting in order to film the third episode of Season 8 titled The Long Night.
However, the grueling hours didn’t stop Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, and Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund Giantsbane, from enjoying themselves. The two found a way to deal with the pressure — by singing!
Christie shared an adorable video to Instagram of the pair singing the title song in the musical of Singin’ In the Rain, but with a few key lyric changes that you will definitely appreciate.
“@khivju @gameofthrones @hbo #LetTheHorrorShowBegin,” Christie captioned the video. “We’re singing in the rain, we’re singing in the rain, what a glorious night in the night shoots of the fight,” Hivju sang while Christie added, “I’m killing again.”
The two actors were obviously taking a little break in between shooting their brutal fight scenes against the White Walkers, in which both of their characters fought tooth and nail to protect the people at Winterfell, Westeros, and the entire living world for that matter.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, commented on the video, writing, “B—H U F—D THEM UP LAST NIGHT I AM SO DAMN PROUD.”
While many fans believed there was a good chance Brienne or Tormund would die in the Battle for Winterfell, they actually both made it out alive! This is good news for Tormund, who has a big crush on Brienne and would probably like to make his move now that he’s not threatened by a White Walker.
