There may be a few Grey’s Anatomy fans out there who ship Maggie and Jackson together, but there are also a lot who aren’t on board with this relationship. Not to mention, the end of Season 15 didn’t do much to make us feel confident in their love story moving forward.
Though we’re open to giving the couple another chance when Season 16 begins in the fall, here are the five reasons why Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) need to call it quits.
5. No Chemistry
Here’s the deal, Maggie and Jackson don’t have chemistry. They just don’t. They may love each other, but they don’t have that spark that couples need to survive. Not to mention nothing feels natural between them, especially PDA.
4. Everything’s Relative
Yes, they’re not technically related to each other, but it’s still kind of weird that they’re step-siblings, right?! It’s hard to not think about the fact that Maggie’s dad and Jackson’s mom are married to each other. We think they should just stick to being siblings.
3. Enchanted April
We know, Japril is dead in the water, but we can’t stop thinking about the fact that Jackson should be with April, not Maggie. We’re just not over it yet!
2. Complete Opposites
Judging by the last few episodes of Season 15, Maggie wants more from Jackson and Jackson wants more from Maggie. Jackson wants to move forward in their relationship, but Maggie isn’t ready. They just never seem to be on the same page.
1. Happier Apart
Bottom line — they’d be happier away from each other. Jackson needs to be with someone who is ready to move forward, and Maggie needs to be with someone who understands her needs and accepts her as she is. They haven’t seemed happy together for a while, so it’s time to move on.
