With Season 3 of Stranger Things releasing in just a few short weeks, it’s time to take a look at one of the newcomers from Season 2, Sadie Sink. Sink joined the cast as Max Mayfield and her entrance caused a bit of drama for the kids in Hawkins, Indiana.
From why she started acting in the first place to who inspired her to go vegan, here are five fast facts you need to know about Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink.
In the Beginning
Sink initially got into acting because she was so obsessed with High School Musical! In fact, she would recreate the movie with her brother, Mitchell. Because of this, her mother signed her up for community theater in Texas.
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I Love Ya, Tomorrow!
The acting classes eventually lead to her getting an audition for the Broadway revival of Annie in 2012. She was just 11 years old and was originally cast as a standby for the orphans. However, she then became an understudy to Annie.
First Television Show
While she was working on Annie, Sink got her very first television role in the award-winning show, The Americans. Her episode aired in 2013.
Vegan Inspiration
Sink got a role in the film The Glass Castle, in which she worked alongside former Cheers star Woody Harrelson. Though Sink was already a vegetarian before filming, Harrelson actually convinced her to go vegan.
Fan First
Prior to landing her role as Max on Stranger Things back in Season 2, Sink was already a major fan of the show. In fact, she watched the first season when it had premiered back in 2016 and knew she wanted to be on the show.
