Lauren Holly has been acting since the mid-’80s, so there’s a good chance you’ve seen her in something over the past three decades. Whether it’s Dumb and Dumber, Any Given Sunday, NCIS, or something in between, Holly has seemingly been in everything!

From her first major television role to her famous Hollywood marriage, here are five fast facts you need to know about former NCIS star Lauren Holly.

In the Beginning
Holly was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, where her mother was an art historian and her father a professor. However, she was raised in Geneva, New York. She attended Sarah Lawrence College where she was encouraged to pursue acting by her roommate Robin Givens.

First Major Role
Holly landed her first major TV role on the soap opera All My Children in 1986. She played Julie Chandler opposite Maurice Benard (ex-Nico) and actor/director Robert Duncan McNeil (Charlie) and was on the show until 1989. She earned a Daytime Emmy nomination. Her first regular primetime role was on Picket Fences.

Music Video Star
Holly appeared in the Dixie Chicks music video for their hit song, Goodbye Earl, which came out in 2000, along with fellow former daytimer (as well as primetime and Broadway star) Jane Krakowski.

Current Role
After leaving NCIS in 2008, Holly co-starred in the Canadian series, Motive, for four seasons and has guest starred on a number of different television shows and movies. Currently, she has joined the cast of the now-Netflix show Designated Survivor, which just dropped its third season.

Getting Personal
After playing Jim Carrey’s love interest in the 1994 film Dumb and Dumber and dating him for a number of years, Holly married the actor in 1996. Sadly, their marriage ended one year later. She has been married two other times and has three adopted sons she is completely devoted to.
