Before the third Dancing with the Stars elimination is announced at the end of the ABC hit show, there’s a lot of dancing to be done.
Nostalgic dancing, that is–inspired by a time in each competitor’s life when a lasting impression was made.
Yes, it is most memorable night on Oct. 9 as the 11 remaining celebrities stroll down memory lane to performances that typically elicit strong emotions from the audience when each pair shows a routine that is meant to melt hearts.
For instance, Jordan Fisher is commemorating when his maternal grandparents, Rodney and Pat, officially adopted him.
That was in 2005 and to properly own this lifetime highlight, Fisher and pro partner Lindsay Arnold are presenting a contemporary dance to the strains of Take Me Home by Us The Duo.
Nick Lachey is looking back at 2011, the year Vanessa became his wife. To illustrate how he feels about this joyous occasion, the former 98 Degrees boy bander and his partner, Peta Murgatroyd, are doing a contemporary number to Falling Slowly by Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard.
Other spoilers include Nikki Bella’s gut-wrenching memory of 2015 when she underwent surgery for a broken neck. Miraculously, the WWE diva is back and healthy and dancing a contemporary routine with Artem to the Rachel Platten anthem, Fight Song.
And Victoria Arlen’s memorable year? This one because 2017 has been a time to rejoice that the Paralympian swimmer is no longer paralyzed and can now show off her skills with Val on the Dancing with the Stars floorboards.
Other dances to be seen on Monday include Derek Fisher and Sharna Burgess’ jazz routine done to the Curtis Mayfield hit, Move On Up. And, Drew Scott and Emma Slater will get their jive on to the Queen anthem, Don’t Stop Me Now.
Finally, Coldplay’s Adventure of a Lifetime is the jam for a quickstep Witney Carson choreographed for Frankie Muniz.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m., ET on ABC.
