Three Moves Days of our Lives Must Make in 2021

With a new year approaching in Salem, it’s time for a key turn in a core, front-burner family. And a couple of Days of our LIves plot points need to be addressed, so storylines can be resolved and move forward in a positive direction.

Top Three Moves For Days of our Lives

Here are the three moves Days of our Lives must make in 2021 to kick things up another notch in Salem.

1. A New DiMera Kingpin
Sadly, the Stefano viewers knew and loved for decades is never coming back. Actor Joseph Mascolo has passed and a recast is simply out of the question, as is another Stefano (Steve-ano?) “clone.” It’s time to leave the larger-than-life character in the past and establish another big bad DiMera; move forward with a new family kingpin.

Perhaps, an angry bitter Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) could get out of prison and take over the combustible clan. Or Chad (Billy Flynn) could embrace his dark side and grab the reins of the DiMera empire. Another option is bringing back Kristen’s brother, Peter Blake. William deVry is available, since General Hospital killed off Julian Jerome, and he has experience playing a mob heavy. In an even more stunning twist, Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ’s teenage son, Johnny, could return to Salem and slowly be molded into the baddest DiMera of all.

2. Situation “Cin”
Poor Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) really can’t move forward until the mystery of Ciara’s disappearance is resolved. Viewers need a definitive answer as to whether she’s dead or alive, too. If the soap goes the alive route, hopefully, Victoria Konefal returns to the role.

If not, it’s time for a topnotch recast. But if Ciara is indeed dead, the timing is perfect for Ben to move forward with Claire (Isabel Durant). After all, she’ll need plenty of comforting when she learns the truth about new boyfriend Charlie (Mike Manning).

3. About Eric
Nicole (Arianna Zucker) is in limbo as long as Eric remains in Africa. The newlyweds barely had a few weeks of happiness, before he jetted out of Salem. If actor Greg Vaughan can’t commit to a DAYS return, Eric should be placed in the hands of another actor.

He’s too pivotal of a character not to be on the canvas. And wouldn’t the timing be absolutely perfect to have him resurface just as Nicole begins reconnecting with fellow lonely heart, Rafe (Galen Gering)? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
