Tamara Braun Celebrates Her Beloved Rescue Dog’s ‘Gotcha’ Day

DAYS Tamara Braun

While the folks in Salem might not trust Ava Vitali to watch their dog, the same certainly wouldn’t be said about her portrayer, Days of our Lives actress Tamara Braun.

Tamara Braun — Proud Dog Mom

A self-professed dog lover, one look at Braun’s social media and you can easily surmise that she would be the perfect pet sitter! The Daytime Emmy-winning actress, who also played Carly and Kim on General Hospital as well as Reese on All My Children, took to her Instagram this week to alert fans of a special day in her life — one in which she welcomed a very special soul.

“Happy Gotcha Day Little!! I love you so much my little furbaby,” she posted, adding a series of adorable images of her pooch. “You fill my life with joy! Thank you for finding me.”

Included in the pictures is a photo of the day Braun first met and took her dog home. “He had been hit by a car and had a broken pelvis,” she explained. “Thank you @jocelynminton for asking if I would foster him and to @susiepark1 for helping me bring him home.”

Other photos show Braun went all-out in celebrating her dog’s special day, as the decorations were aplenty, complete with balloons and happy birthday streamers. Among Braun’s daytime friends commenting on the post were her former co-stars Briana Nicole Henry (GH’s Jordan) and Alicia Minshew (ex-Kendall, AMC), who obviously enjoyed the fun photos.

This isn’t the first time that Braun has shared photos of her pet. Earlier this year, she posted a throwback photo to a time she was “sleeping with puppies” and somberly noted, “I wish I still was.”

Another time she posted an adorable photo of her dog. “This was one of my highlights of 2020,” she wrote at the time. “Little cuddled with me for hours one recent morning. It doesn’t happen often so I stayed in bed to savor the specialness of it.”

On-screen, Ava could surely use the love of a good pup about now. Though she seems to be settling into a sweet romance with Rafe (Galen Gering), trying to put her troubled past behind her, rumors are circulating that a big mystery will soon pop up in town, and Ava could be a prime suspect in what transpires. That’s sure to cause some trouble with her bubbling relationship with Salem’s finest. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
