Leo (Greg Rikaart) frantically filled in Marlena (Diedre Hall) on Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) missing letter and his fear that he would be EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) next victim. Later, Gus (Michael Ocampo) saw Leo with a suitcase. Leo informed him of his mission to find Gwen and told him to tell Javi (Jacob Martinez) that he would always love him. Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) gave Rafe (Galen Gering) Gwen’s letter that she hacked from the lawyer’s computer. Rafe wasn’t happy but agreed it was what they needed. Cat insisted they find Dimitri (Peter Porte) to see if he found evidence against EJ. Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) visited Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and reminded her of the damage she did when she didn’t believe Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews), who didn’t betray her. Ari (Vico Escorcia) informed Gabi that she had misplaced a prototype of one of her purses. Gabi realized Philip was telling the truth. After learning from Brady (Eric Martsolf) that Basic Black really needed her, Marlena met with Kate (Lauren Koslow). Marlena asked Kate to work with her. Kate was hesitant because of what she did to Johnny (Carson Boatman). Marlena gave her a pep talk, which led Kate to seek out Roman (Josh Taylor). Kate apologized and reminded him they were soul mates. Roman admitted he loved her but didn’t like her, so she vowed to make him remember what he liked about her. Tate (Leo Howard) and Brady compared notes about Gwen. At the hospital, Xander (Paul Telfer) filled Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) in on his theory that EJ framed Holly (Ashley Puzemis). Suddenly, it all clicked for a guilt-ridden Sarah. In Holly’s room, EJ informed her that he believes Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) will drop the lawsuit. Sarah arrived to apologize to Holly and kicked EJ out. Holly listened as Sarah said her piece. They made up. Xander told Brady about his EJ setting up Holly theory. Brady told Tate, who rushed to see Holly, and she forgave him. Holly told him the good news about the lawsuit. Marlena visited EJ. EJ learned that Marlena knows that Lexie (Nikki Crawford) is dying. Johnny and Chanel (Raven Bowens) were set for family time until Trey (Joseph Ihlenf and Jordan Perdue) got a cold. They called their village, and Javi (Jacob Martinez) arrived to take Trey. Chanel was upset that a sick Trey had to leave because she had just finished her last chemo treatment. Leo filled Rafe in on the latest with Gwen. Rafe informed Leo that Gwen’s phone was found destroyed. Javi showed up with Trey and assumed Leo was there to see him. Gus came home, so Leo left. Gus told Javi about Gwen, and Javi felt bad. Javi learned Gus isn’t a kid person as they watched Trey. Abe (James Reynolds) confronted Lexie about her mother not knowing she was planning to visit. Lexie covered and said she wanted to surprise her mother. Theo and Abe went to get dinner, and Abe felt guilty about running the surprise. When they got home, Lexie had the apartment decorated for Christmas and insisted she was making up for lost time. Susan (Stacy Haiduk) paid EJ a surprise visit. Brady, Marlena, and Tate celebrated Rachel’s (Lorelei Olivia Mote) homecoming at the Brady pub. Marlena and Brady grew worried when Rachel told them that Kristen had gone to Aremid to take care of her sick mother. Chad (Conner Floyd) and Belle (Martha Madison) joined the party. Marlena questioned their Italy trip. Belle revealed the real meaning behind it. Marlena wasn’t happy and was concerned for their safety. Chad reassured Marlena that the DiMera security would be on hand if they needed. Joy sought legal advice from Belle. The lawyer encouraged Joy to rethink her strategy and give Stephanie the benefit of the doubt. Belle’s words prompted Joy to reconsider her custody demand, and she nearly called Alex. Then Stephanie arrived and called Joy out for her behavior. Joy got riled up after her talk with Stephanie and doubled down on her custody demand. Gabi showed up at Philip’s office and informed him that she was giving part of Stefano’s inheritance money to Titan. Philip was thrilled. They hugged and kissed. Alex walked in on the kiss. Chad showed up at Leo’s hotel room after the latter missed a meeting. Leo filled him in on Gwen and his desperate need to get to Alamainia to save her from Dimitri. Chad booked the DiMera private jet for Leo. Chad filled Rafe in on what he did for Leo. Rafe and Chad shared what they knew about Gwen and Leo’s search to find her. In Horton Town Square, a leaving Leo ran into Javi and Gus. Javi was worried about Leo finding Gwen on his own. Gus got jealous. Javi tried to stop Leo but failed. EJ and Kristen had an honest moment where they talked about being Stefano’s children. Kristen called him the most like their father. EJ had Kristen kidnapped and put in a container at the Salem airfield. Rita confirmed that phase one of the plan was done. EJ began to have second thoughts about his plan for Kristen. Theo and Abe surprised Lexie with a necklace. Lexie got emotional as she prepared to leave town and lied to her family about it. Once Abe and Theo were gone, Lexie headed to the Salem airfield to meet Kristen. Theo and Abe ran into Paulina (Jackée Harry), who was babysitting Trey. Paulina questioned Lexie’s decision to travel alone to see her mother. Abe and Theo defended Lexie and shut down Paulina. At the airfield, Lexie found Kristen, but couldn’t get her out. While she searched for a tool to break off the lock, Lexie passed out on the ground.
