On the July 30 episode of Days of our Lives, Alex lamented to Stephanie about how Joy won’t let him see Kelsey as long as Stephanie is around. Alex claims he knows all about custody battles because of everything his biological mother, Angelica, put Justin and Adrienne through. Will Alex decide to handle his family situation the same way Justin handled his?
Key Takeaways
- Alex reflects on the bitter custody battle that shaped his childhood and his parents’ lives.
- Angelica’s shocking past raises questions about how Alex might handle his own family crisis.
- History could repeat itself if Alex follows the Kiriakis family’s ruthless custody playbook.
The Twisted Story of Baby Alex’s Early Years
Once upon a time, Angelica (Jane Elliot, Shelley Taylor Morgan, Judith Chapman, Morgan Fairchild) used her baby, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), to keep Justin (Wally Kurth) and Adrienne (Judi Evans) apart. When that failed, and the couple insisted on staying together while co-parenting Alex, Angelica blew up a construction site where Adrienne worked. As one does.
She fled the country with Alex and faked their deaths in order to escape justice. But then she ran out of money. Angelica hated running out of money. She returned to Salem, handed Alex over to Justin, and took off again.
For the rest of Alex’s life, he only saw his biological mother once in a while. Mostly when she needed more money from Justin. And Justin and Adrienne were perfectly happy with that.
Alex Could Follow the Kiriakis Custody Playbook
Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) doesn’t have much money either. (Though we’re not sure how; her parents have plenty.) What if Alex decides to take a page from his parents’ book and tries to buy Baby Kelsey off her? Everyone is supposed to have a price, right?
And if Alex decides to make life hard for Joy, such as making sure she can’t get a job, paying child support only to Kelsey and not to Joy, then maybe Joy will crack?
And if none of that works out, then Alex can do what Justin and Adrienne did next — which is just take Kelsey and leave town. Let her try to follow them. With no money. It’s how the Kiriakis family deals with everything.
