On the Tuesday, July 28, episode of Days of our Lives, Holly was thrilled when EJ told her he thinks he can get Amy to drop the charges against her. Holly was pleased. We are… less so. DAYS has so many wonderful stories currently on the canvas. Why are they cutting them short?

Key Takeaways

  • Holly and Amy’s lawsuit could become a much bigger story if DAYS lets it play out.
  • Lexie’s return created a compelling love triangle that feels like it’s ending too soon.
  • Ari and Liam’s budding romance deserved more time before being cut short.

Amy’s Lawsuit Could Keep the Drama Going, But Will DAYS Let it?

We don’t believe Sophia (Rachel Boyd) is dead. We can’t wait until she is back in Salem. And, in the meantime, we want to keep her mom, Amy (Shi Ne Nielson), on the canvas. If that means suing Holly (Ashley Puzemis), then so be it. Sure, Holly didn’t do what she’s accused of — yes, she was mean to Sophia, but if being mean is now a crime, there go soaps. And most of society, since everybody will be in jail.

But Holly hasn’t been held responsible for so many of the things she actually did, so we’re OK with her suffering for this one. This could be a great story! So why does DAYS seem to be cutting it short?

A Classic Soap Opera Triangle Deserves a Longer Run

When Lexie (Nikki Crawford) came back from the dead to find her beloved Abe (James Reynolds) remarried, we had the makings of a classic soap-opera triangle. Paulina (Jackée Harry) stepped aside for Abe and Theo’s (Tyler Joseph Andrews) sake, and everyone suffered nobly.

But now, Lexie is dying again. And the suffering has barely begun. This could be a great story! So why does DAYS seem to be cutting it short?

A Potential Couple Never Gets Off the Ground

Ari (Vico Escorcia) was falling for bad boy Liam (Hank Northrop), a criminal and single dad. Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) had very good reasons to loathe this pairing. So she paid Liam to take off. He did.

Ari found out and was furious. But that seems to be fading, too. This could be a great story! So why does DAYS seem to be cutting it short?
