It doesn’t matter that Paulina Price Carver has absolutely no political experience. It doesn’t matter that she has a murky past and, less than a year ago, DAYS spoilers revealed that she was taking the blame for killing her abusive, drug-dealing ex-boyfriend, a crime their secret, illegitimate daughter actually committed, and is now serving time for.

Days of our Lives wants us to believe that her gubernatorial campaign was thisclose to winning…until Sloan Peterson (Jessica Serfaty) came to Paulina (Jackée Harry) with blackmail about something Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) did…that Paulina covered up.
So what could this big secret, which Paulina made Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) sign NDAs about before they started negotiating with Sloan (does that really fall under a PR agency’s duties?) be?
DOOL Spoilers: Kid Stuff
If Chanel’s fluid sexuality was going to be an issue in Paulina’s campaign, then surely her living with Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) would have come up before now. That seems to be no problem in the very progressive state of…wherever they are. And Allie being white isn’t a problem either, apparently. So it can’t be that.

Days of our Lives Spoilers: The Real Deal
When viewers first met Chanel, she was a wild party girl, flying around the world, living the high life. When Paulina cut off Chanel’s money, she hopped into a quickie, fake marriage with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), hoping that Paulina would bribe them both into annulling it. Paulina reacted so calmly, it’s possible that Chanel had tried this stunt before. But there’s got to be more to it.
Days of our Lives: Bad News
The horrifying way Chanel and Paulina were acting and the way they quickly agreed to pay off their blackmailer suggests something a bit more serious than a gold-digging marriage — to a person of either gender.
Unless, of course, it was a gold-digging marriage gone seriously wrong. As in murderously wrong. As in “covering up a death” wrong.
