When Days of our Lives needed a sex kitten to welcome Alex Kiriakis to Salem and a brilliant defense attorney to defend Leo Stark in a murder case, they saved money by hiring a single actress, Jessica Serfaty, to portray Sloan Peterson. And she proved up to both tasks. Which is why this is a legal eagle who needs to stick around for a while.
Smart and Savvy Sloan Peterson
Salem hasn’t seen a good lawyer in ages. Melinda Trask is a good lawyer. But, because she is constantly following the evidence and charging contract players for very good reasons, she is accused of having a vendetta. So no one will acknowledge what a good lawyer she is. Sloan, on the other hand, was defending Leo (Greg Rikaart), who nobody likes either. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) bad-mouthed Sloan for defending Leo for killing Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller)…how dare Sloan defend a man who was actually innocent when it made Chad sads?
But, maybe, down the line, she’ll defend someone who everyone loves. And then she’ll get her due. After all, does a week pass in Salem without someone being hauled down to the clink?

Days of our Lives: Love Is All Around
But the best role Sloan could play in Salem is as anyone’s love interest. As of now, she isn’t related to anyone else on the canvas. Who else can say that?
Sloan has already met Alex (Robert Scott Wilson). And, obviously, Chad. But there are so many other options: Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash), and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) — not to mention Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) or Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). The point is, she’s a mother-load of potential. Please don’t have her turn out to be related to anyone. We want this woman to have full run of the town…and its people!
