It’s a day of love for Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) as she spends some very precious moments with her adorable daughter. She and Rachel (Finely Rose Slater) drink their hot cocoa at the park and have some fun and frolicking. Of course, that’s not all Kristen has planned. She desperately wants to grab her daughter and go on the run.
Unfortunately, things aren’t going to go the way Kristen wants them to. Before long EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) arrives. He hugs his sister, snuggles his niece, and then gets down to business. He’s there to help (not willingly, but that’s neither here nor there to Kristen). It’s time to pack up and get out of here, ladies.
Sadly for her — but not so sadly for everyone else — Kristen makes the mistake of going home. She’s there to get her bags but what she gets is cuffs instead. Brady (Eric Martsolf) shows up with the town’s top cops and watches as they whisk her away.
DAYS made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more. It was developed as a half-hour soap opera for NBC by prolific soap scribe Irna Phillips along with her longtime director, Ted Corday, and Allan Chase. Corday’s son, Ken Corday, continues the family tradition by serving as executive producer.
From Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) crazy schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Fans love their daytime soap operas, and the excitement in Salem is non-stop.
