Sometimes it’s easy to forget that in Salem, USA on NBC’s Days of Our Lives, it’s been 2021 all year and somehow Salem’s 2020 didn’t come with COVID-19. So, when our favorite Salemites ring in the new year this week, they will be ringing in 2022. In Salem’s 2021, people went about their business as normal, so maybe that’s a harbinger of things to come.

Still, there will be soapy drama that comes with the New Year’s Eve at Julie’s Place. Will Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Cady McClain) come together at midnight? Will Chad (Billy Flynn) kiss Gwen (Emily O’Brien) rather than Abby (Marci Miller)? Will Kate and Jake become ‘public’ about their affair? Days of our Lives History

DOOL made its debut in 1965 and is one of the longest-running daytime soap operas in American history. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, five decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) evil schemes to Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) one-liners to the epic love story of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso), DAYS knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more with newer pairs like Lani and Eli. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
