Sonny Back in Salem Soon as Freddie Smith Returns

Look for Sonny Kiriakis to make his Salem return as actor Freddie Smith returns to “Days of Our Lives” this month, according to the Jason47 DAYS website.

Not-So-Surprise Return
We’ve known since early spring that Smith was back on the DAYS set, as a tweeted pic from Vincent Irizarry (Deimos) accidentally gave it away. The show soon confirmed his return.

Smith left DAYS late last summer after feeling he and Will would never work things out. Just as they readied to reconcile, Batty Ben killed Will, breaking Sonny’s heart. Away in Europe working for Victor, Sonny heard a loving voicemail. Then, he heard his husband was dead.

Smith made a brief DAYS return for Will’s (Guy Wilson) funeral, but then took of for Europe again as a heartbroken man. While we don’t yet know what prompts this latest Salem trip, we do know Sonny is back to stay.

Expect to see him in a storyline with Christopher Sean’s Paul. Several months back, Sean tweeted news of a new story and tagged Smith in the post.
