On today’s Days of our Lives, Leo Stark got quite the scoop while on his hunt for an abode for himself and his bestie.
In addition, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) put a moratorium on sexy times with Gwen (Emily O’Brien), Colin (Jasper Newman) asked Talia (Aketra Sevillian) to lure Chanel (Raven Bowens) in with her sex, and Jada (Elia Cantu) wondered whether her sister was really capable of committing multiple felonies. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At the Salem Inn, Leo (Greg Rikaart) readied to eat a most delicious-looking breakfast only to be stymied by a complaint-filled Gwen.
After taking her roomie to task over his lavish spending — the spread before him totaled $65! — Gwen insisted that moving forward there would be no more mimosa *gasp* no more massage *gasp!* no more spa *Gasp!* and, most importantly, no more room service *GASP!*

What’s more, the two of them need to look for a new place. Desperately. There are only so many times they can dodge that awful, terrible Phyllis at the front desk.
Her excoriation of Leo concluded, Gwen found herself welcoming Alex inside her shared room and Leo set off on the hunt for new digs — two rooms this time!
Meanwhile, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) took in the floorplan of a vacant apartment and debated whether or not they could see themselves living there…together…but in separate rooms mind you.
Xander’s pretty sold. After all, there’s lots of light, and the window doesn’t overlook a parking lot, unlike his current hotel room, so it’s got a lot going for it. For her part, Chloe appreciates that she’d be far and away from “Phyllis, the terrorist.” Still, she’s not sure if she’s ready to commit.
Enter Brady (Eric Martsolf). “What are you doing here?” each part of the estranged couple demanded. Brady admitted that he was looking for a place for himself and Rachel; Chloe copped to needing to economize in light of being jobless.
No sooner had Brady questioned why Chloe would be checking out two-room apartments when she was hurting for money than Xander reappeared from down the hall.
“What the Hell is this?” bellowed Brady, necessitating Chloe to explain that she and Xander might — BIG emphasis on the might — be moving in together. But just as roommates. That’s all!
After needlessly reminding Chloe that Xander was the one who left her in the clutches of a Mexican drug lord, Brady groused about the pair’s budding friendship prompting Chloe to retort that at least Xander had been there for her — unlike a certain someone who’s supposed to be her boyfriend!
Leo slithered onto the scene, pointedly wondered whether he’d just happened upon a “Neanderthalathon,” then attempted to get the juicy scoop he was sure existed.
The trio rebuked Leo’s efforts, and Xander even broke his handy dandy pencil. “No one is interested in your Three’s Company remake anyway,” huffed Leo in defeat.
The question of who was going to take the unit arose, and Xander insisted that he and Chloe were taking it. That didn’t sit well with either Brady or Chloe, but when Xander let slip that he’d be footing the bill for the foreseeable future and Brady cracked that Chloe was like his “kept woman,” Chloe concurred with Xander. They’ll take it!
Back in her room at the Salem Inn, Gwen and Alex got down to the business of discussing them. It’s not so much that Alex was there to break up with her, but he was there to strongly suggest that they stop sleeping together.
As Alex went on to explain, he’s had several sessions with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), and thanks to them, he’s recognized that what’s been going on between him and Gwen is part of his “unhealthy pattern.” And he knows that quitting Gwen cold turkey will be hard — harder than quitting the booze or smoking or…well, any vice really — but it has to be done. He’s decided that he can no longer avoid facing his feelings by using Gwen. And while Gwen might not mind being used, he minds. It’s not healthy, for either one of them, and he wants better for them both.
And besides, it’s not as though they’re some great love match. She only jumped into bed with him to make Xander jealous, and he was subjugating his feelings for Stephanie (Abigail Klein) with sex with a relative stranger.
Off that stirring convo, Gwen needed a win — or barring that, some good news. Unfortunately, Leo couldn’t provide it. All he had was disappointment upon disappointment. Firstly, someone beat him to that great two-bedroom. Second, “Xander’s shacking up with Chloe Lane.”
Upon being apprised by Chanel that Sweet Bits had been closed down indefinitely due to the town-wide drugging, Talia wondered if Colin’s thirst for vengeance had been quenched. It had not.
In fact, Colin was more determined than ever to “turn up the heat” and really put the screws to Chanel. Just as she’d broken his and Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) mother’s heart by “seducing” their father, so too would Chanel have her heart broken.
When Talia revealed that that had already come to pass courtesy of her last girlfriend — Allie Horton shout out! — Colin decided that the second time would be the charm. And who better to do the damage than Talia?!
At the cop shop, Rafe (Galen Gering) raised Jada’s hackles by showing her Leo’s latest poison pen piece — titled Kissing Cops: Will They Be Cancelled? which detailed their office escapade while he [Rafe that is] he was high on whatever was put in those Sweet Bit’s biscuits.
Jada declared that she’d “kill” Lady Whistleblower, then confided in Rafe her ever-growing suspicion that Talia might have been the mystery drugger. She did have means and opportunity — but neither she [Jada, that is] nor Rafe could fathom an actual motive.
The stress of thinking the worst about her sister induced a migraine, and Rafe offered Jada his magic hands as a cure-all…then thought better of it in light of the damning gossip column.
When Paulina (Jackée Harry) came calling in search of Abe (James Reynolds) — whom she expects to do something about the closure of Sweet Bits and fast! — Jada asked her to sit for a few more questions about the trashing of her office. Paulina’s remembering that the unlawful entry took place the same night that she’d met Talia only served to strengthen Jada’s suspicions.
Elsewhere, the kitchen at Sweet Bits to be exact, Talia made her move on Chanel while even further afield, Xander caught Colin entering what he’d assumed was “baker girl’s” room.
