On today’s Days of our Lives, EJ DiMera welcomed Megan into the family fold. He has an ulterior motive, of course.
In addition, Anna (Leann Hunley) went above and beyond to try and keep a confidence, Marlena (Deidre Hall) proved that a mother’s love knows no bounds, and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) realized they had only each other to rely on. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
While Megan soliloquized underneath Stefano’s portrait like the majestic sociopath that she is, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) crept in behind her, took in the sight, and then demanded to know just who exactly she was and what she was doing in his house.
“Actually, I have as much right to be here as you do, baby brother,” purred Megan. What’s more, “My name might be Hathaway, but I am a DiMera through and through which means my place is in this house and the family business.”

EJ visibly blanched at that last statement, but Megan continued on without addressing it. She explained how she was well aware that EJ was locked in a power struggle with Stefan (Brandon Barash) for control of the company, so “Considering the fact that my vote might be the difference between your triumphant victory or your crushing defeat, I’d guess that you’d want to keep me on your good side.” EJ concurred. “Champagne?” he suggested.
EJ: It’s not every day that a DiMera returns to the familial home.
Megan: Oh, I thought you were going to say, “returns from the dead.”
EJ: Well, that happens with quite regularity around here.
Megan: Yes, but not every day.
Opposite this, Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) came upon Stefan and Gabi (Camila Banus) marveling over their upcoming wedding and volunteered to stand up for the two of them. “When Hell freezes over,” bellowed Gabi.
A chagrined Kristen wondered aloud where all of Gabi’s hostility was coming from and Gabi, in turn, reminded Kristen of the role she played in brainwashing Stefan in order to keep the two of them apart. Luckily, they’re now back together, despite Kristen’s best efforts.
Stefan stepped in and floated the idea that perhaps it would behoove them not to make an enemy of Kristen…not when they could use her voting shares to their advantage. Gabi concurred. “Champagne?”
Meanwhile, at The Bistro, a solitary Anna busied herself by phoning Nicole and asking if she’d picked up her prenatal vitamins. Nicole had, and she expressed a hope that Anna wasn’t speaking about her pregnancy within earshot of anyone…like, say, a restaurant full of patrons.
No sooner had Anna assured Nicole that no one would become privy to her pregnancy through her than Tony (Thaao Penghlis) appeared and overheard the entire exchange. Anna did her best to cover, but Tony wouldn’t accept her “wrong number” excuse. “Do I know this person who is with child?” he questioned.
Anna responded, “Yes, you know her very well, in fact…to be honest, it’s very surprising, shocking really, because I just found out that…it’s me, I’m pregnant!”
Tony begged his beloved’s pardon, and Anna doubled down. She granted that it must come as a great shock — she, too, had thought that her childbearing days had “long, long, long since passed.” But thanks to the sorcery of Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton), a miracle had occurred!
Deciding to play along, Tony assured Anna that that was most wonderous news and set about painting her a picture of how the next nine [or so] months would proceed. No alcohol, for starters. None, nada, zip! Complete and total abstinence.
And then, of course, Anna would have to give up caffeine. Sushi was also totally out of the question. Oh, and all the soft cheeses in the cupboards would have to be tossed out. And did he mention no alcohol? That means wine as well. It would all have to go. Perhaps they could donate it to charity.
“Do you think people in need of charity, I mean, should they be drinking wine?” blubbered Anna. Good point. They’ll just toss it all out! “Parenting is a sacrifice, isn’t it, mummy?” Unless, of course, Anna isn’t really pregnant. Could that be the case?
Anna reluctantly admitted that she wasn’t…but refused to divulge the name of the woman who was. She’d been sworn to secrecy, and she intended to keep that vow.
Tony: It’s Nicole, isn’t it?
Anna: Dang it!
Eric put in an appearance at the Black family penthouse and made a big song and dance of checking on Brady in light of Kristen’s release. Of course, what he was really there for was to crow that it wasn’t Sloan who’d been harassing Paulina (Jackée Harry) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) but rather her brother Colin (Jasper Newman)…and to convince Marlena and John (Drake Hogestyn) to dine out with him and his girlfriend. It would so lift Sloan’s spirits.
Eric also bid Brady to join them, but Brady attempted to beg off, considering the only woman he has in his life right now is Kristen. Soon he was browbeaten into accepting the invitation. Afterward, while Brady excoriated Sloan, Marlena preached tolerance and support.
Having summoned Tony and Anna back to the family abode, EJ was less than pleased to find Gabi and Stefan sauntering in with Kristen in tow — their invitation to join them was but the beginning of their campaign to get her on their side.
Megan introduced herself to the couple and happily reunited with Tony and Anna [Well, more so Tony, but he is family after all].
As expected, there was some snipping, snapping, and squabbling, but the group managed to pull themselves together long enough to raise a glass to Megan and Kristen’s return to the family fold and Megan’s decision to, at long last, claim the DiMera name.
Tony then commanded everyone’s attention and announced that he had something to share with EJ — which was news to Anna, who was sure that she’d convinced Tony to keep quiet about Nicole’s predicament [at least for as long as it took for her to get a paternity test performed].
Speaking of Nicole and that all-important test…it finally [FINALLY] dawned on her that she’d have to somehow get a cheek swab from at least one of the potential daddies. But how to do that without raising suspicions?
Her salvation came in the form of Sloan, who offered to collect Eric’s sample herself. “File this under ‘Don’t Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth.'” But just as Nicole readied to hand over a swab, Eric chanced upon them. Dun, dun, dun!
